SERVICES
Wagging Tail Foundation offers a variety of customized services to those living anywhere in the United States. We understand that each owner's lifestyle and financial needs will be as individual as the dog they adopt. It is the mandate of Wagging Tail to tailor its support to those unique needs. It is the mission of the Wagging Tail to meet the needs of the people and dogs it services with the dignity and integrity that every person and animal deserves. Wagging Tail's services include:
1. Dog-Owner Matching
Wagging Tail will provide a dog to each applicant based upon the new owner's specific needs. We'll take into consideration the size, energy level, and temperament of the dog, as well as the amount of grooming required of the chosen breed, when making the selection. The dogs, including puppies, if desired, will be chosen from a large pool of resources, including shelters and breeders. The available dogs may also include retired show or service dogs who are young enough to bring years of joy to their owners, but too old to continue the strenuous regimens of their former work days. Applicants can accept or reject the dog or dogs presented to them for adoption, and it is ultimately the applicant's input and decision that will solidify the match.
2. Veterinary Cost Coverage
Wagging Tail Foundation will make billing arrangements with a veterinary clinic in the owner’s home town. When a dog requires routine or emergency services from the clinic, Wagging Tail will receive the bill and assume all treatment costs for the owner.
3. Supplemental Costs
Upon the recommendation of the treating veterinarian, Wagging Tail will pay for a variety of additional daily supplements and monthly medications that will allow the dog to lead a healthier, longer life. Covered items include medications, grooming and hygiene supplies, and supplements. Wagging Tail will procure the necessary supplies and have them delivered to owners’ homes.
4. Food Costs
The Foundation will initiate a billing system with a pet supply outlet in the owner’s home town. Dog owners need only provide identification when selecting food.
5. Transportation
Should the owner be unable to drive his or her dog to the veterinary clinic or drive to the pet shop and carry items unassisted, Wagging Tail will provide or arrange for transportation. This service may be limited to certain geographic regions where support can be found.
6. Training and Ongoing Support
If the owner needs dog care instructions, Wagging Tail Foundation will provide individual mentoring support, as well as dog "play dates" that can help socialize the dog. This service may be limited to certain geographic regions where support can be found.
