ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Wagging Tail's founder, Lisa Bernhard, is an attorney-turned-writer. Soon after taking in her first dog, Buzz, she found city life and apartment living too difficult for an owner of a large breed dog. Lisa moved to Montauk, Long Island, where she and Buzz lived in a cottage near the ocean.

In the three years that followed, Lisa acquired eight more dogs, who changed not only her way of life, but the place she chose to live as well. She ultimately built a home, on a 50-acre parcel, atop a mountain in rural Vermont. She and her dogs now reside in Florida.

She joyously fills her days writing, walking by the Gulf waters, and tossing endless tennis balls to the dogs at the canine beach. Lisa tells the tale of her move to Vermont and the fate of her first dogs in her autobiographical book, Bless This House. (visit www.lbernhard.com for more information).
